The Rebirth of Motivation and Belief

With the start of a new year, resolutions abound. Whether you are recycling 2016’s list or picking and choosing new ones, the goal setting is the easy part. The difficult part comes in on January 1st. The even harder part comes in on February 1st as it takes multiple days to develop a habit. Even though the actions may seem daunting, they are not impossible.

Keeping distractions to a minimum has been a key to developing the goal oriented strategy. From constant phone alerts of news to the text messages, it can be perplexing to keep our focus while we are shown different messages concerning different subjects, topics, people, and places. Keeping the reigns of the digital persona is a way through this. Setting time and sticking to the habit will bring results. At least it did for me.

Having a support group can be amazing. Whether it is your family members, friends, classroom peers, or your gym partner, you need to have support. No man or woman is an island. We are all connected in some direct or indirect way. If you are a supporter and applaud those near you who are trying to make a better life, you are great. Honestly, you are an amazing person. If you are a person who is filled with envy and jealousy for the way someone tries to better themselves, you need help. We should attempt to help one another apolitically. Not in tribes, but as individual beings. Not for the reward anything that we may obtain from it, but simply to make the world a better place. We need to feel connected, supported, and helped.

Learn to read topics that are outside your comfort zone. Learn to read about the other side. Learn to read about something that you find boring and finish the book. If you are a MGTOW, read a feminist book of the struggles of feminism. If you are a feminist, read about the struggles of men. Learn to have empathy and feel for those around you who may be hurting or are hurt. Don’t judge. Love. Understand. Care. And if that can’t be done, at least don’t continue hurting others or backstabbing others. Don’t pretend to care only to gossip or hate.

Understand that everything happens for a reason. There is a reason for everything. From your highest point of life to the lowest, there is a reason for everything. King Solomon’s Ecclesiastes has great knowledge and wisdom concerning the way life works. There is a lesson to be learned from every heartbreak to every euphoric moment. Don’t be too busy to learn.

Finally, understand that you have everything you need. You are an amazing individual who may be at the peak right now. You may be an amazing individual who may be at their lowest right now. Regardless of the circumstances, you are an amazing individual. Learn your value and look forward to the new year with compassion and strength.
