Praying, Reading Scripture, and Praising
Among the ways that we can worship the LORD are many different manners. As believers, everything that we do is done for the LORD. Whether we sing, praise, or study his word we know that everything is for the LORD. The three main ways that we have learned to worship the LORD include those activities that are seen in church and in the private life.
Praying allows us to be in communication with our LORD. We can ask and he gives. We can praise and He listens. Regardless of the circumstances, the LORD listens to our pleas and prayers. Praying is one of the effective ways to be heard.
Reading scripture and studying passages allow us to understand what the LORD wants for us. We cannot go astray from the truth which is present in His word. By knowing what the LORD allows and does not allow, we are able to continue our path in the correct way.
Another way we can praise the LORD is through singing. Whether you are a good, great, or prefer to sing in private, singing allows us to praise the LORD. David was known to be a musician who would play instruments for the LORD. He was not only a shepherd but a musician as well. Psalm 95 illustrates this point.
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!” – Psalm 95: 1-2
Pick a hymn, song, or praise song in a foreign language and praise the LORD.
