Who Can Stand Before You?
“But you, you are to be feared! Who can stand before you when once your anger is roused? From the heavens you uttered judgment; the earth feared and was still, when GOD arose to establish judgment; to save all the humble of the earth. Selah” – Psalm 76: 7-9
The LORD is almighty and all powerful. When His wrath is kindled, there is no one who can stand against His wrath. We are able to see how those who attacked the LORD’s people ultimately suffered for their attacks. David asks the question, “Who can stand before you?” No one can stand against the LORD. We are able to see this since the beginning of time that there is no higher power and might. The LORD has total control over our lives.
However, the LORD allows us to stand before Him when we offer our prayers and praises. He allowed Moses to stand before Him in Mount Sinai. He allowed prophets to stand before Him when they did His will and followed His word. He allowed His people to see Him in the temple when the temple was constructed under the leadership of King Solomon. The musicians and priests and His people were able to see Him in the temple.
We are called to be in a relationship with our Heavenly Father asking for His guidance and following His commandments in order to be able to stand before His presence. The LORD of vengeance is also the LORD of love. We must follow His commandments and His will in order to prevent being under His wrath.
