We are able to see that there is a large amount of time that passes between the time that Malachi preaches and the time that John the Baptist arrives and preaches. We see changes happen and we are able to see that there are new circumstances that occur. We know that John the Baptist is sent to preach in a manner similar to the previous prophets. We know that GOD is able to make all things good and this encourages us to know that everything is done with a purpose for our goodness and the goodness of the kingdom of GOD.

John the Baptist is able to preach a message of repentance and forsaking the sin that had caused previous events to occur. John states the need to change and to seek the LORD. He was also baptizing in the Jordan river in the southern part of the country. People were confessing their sins and seeking the baptisms of John. We see that while there was no word from a prophet for such a long time, the people are still needing the word of GOD to allow their lives to have meaning and importance. We see that with GOD we have everything. We are able to see that the steadfast love of GOD provides us with what we truly need including His word.

While the people may have been reading the scriptures and learning, they had to hear the word of GOD being preached. We need our daily bread in the form of the word of GOD to enhance our understanding and also to nourish our spirit. We see that GOD keeps His steadfast love for us by sending a prophet in John which is in accordance with the promises that He made in Isaiah and Malachi. We also see Matthew, Mark, and Luke describe the same actions and words that were prophesied and that occurred through the preaching and baptisms that John provided. We are able to see that His faithfulness is too great to measure because He wants us to be saved and to save others. We see how both the Psalms and the Gospel were written to preach repentance, the steadfast love of GOD, and the faithfulness of GOD. This can be seen in the worship that is given to GOD who is the Creator of the universe, of Heaven and earth.
