We continue with our learning about the manner in which GOD is able to accomplish His purpose in our lives. Sometimes it is not clear and sometimes it may appear confusing. Even when we are not sure, we know that GOD is able to provide guidance and show us the manner that we are to continue working out His purpose. We see this through the examples from yesterday in Zechariah and Mary who were able to accomplish the purpose of GOD. It is also important to consider the faith that is a component necessary to allow GOD to work through us.

We can see that Zechariah may have had a spirit that faints when he did not believe the words of the angel. We learn that after the circumstances of life, he did not believe the words because they were too wonderful and different from the reality that he had experienced. Even through it all, Zechariah was reminded of the splendor and glory of GOD through the words and actions of GOD in his life. We also see the way that Mary is able to be faithful and did not doubt any of the words of the angel. We are able to see that even with our different characteristics and flaws and virtues and everything that makes us who we are, GOD is able to accomplish His purpose.

We see two different perspectives within the same purpose and calling of GOD in our lives to trust in His word. We may sometimes react in the manner that Zachariah’s reacted with a faint spirit but knowing that GOD’s word is true, and sometimes we can act with a firm trust in GOD. We are reminded to keep faith in GOD no matter the circumstances, the past, or the obstacles. We know that the steadfast love of GOD is above and beyond anything that we can imagine because even with our flaws, He can make sure to guide our way as a shepherd guides.
