Saul “El Canelo” Alvarez defeats Sergey Kovalev via Knock Out in Round Eleven

Saul “El Canelo” Alvarez has defeated Sergey Kovalev in the Saturday Night Bout that saw Canelo become the WBO Lightweight Championship. The match was an interesting bout in which Saul Alvarez was able to keep composure throughout the match even in the face of multiple far reaching jabs from Kovalev.

Alvarez was resilient during the match by chasing down Kovalev while keeping his guard up at all times. While attempting to strike fierce body punches and left hooks, Kovalev knew that distance would be in his favor. The bout continued well into the eleventh round until Alvarez was able to deliver a fierce left hook into the temple of Kovalev who was dazed and confused. It was a strong jab to the right side of the face that kept Kovalev down. The referee counted to ten and the match was done.

Alvarez was able to use his strong punches as well as cerebral strategy to not let the reach advantage go in favor of Kovalev. While Alvarez was able to chase down Kovalev, Kovalev would strike and retreat back to keep distance away from the power punches of Canelo. The strategy worked until the last few rounds where Alvarez was able to get in the correct distance in order to strike hard at the head of Kovalev. While Alvarez did strike some strong body punches, the six footer was able to dodge and even continue regardless of the force of the punches.

Saul “El Canelo” Alvarez vs. Rocky Fielding

Saul Alvarez was able to easily defeat Rocky Fielding in the match that occurred on Saturday night. Fielding was able to take three rounds with Alvarez’s strong left body hooks as well as strong right hook to the face. Fielding fell three times to end the fight and give the result to Canelo. During the third round Fielding took a strong right hook to the face which caused with to fall only to get back up prior to the ten count only to get hit a few seconds later with a left body hook that caused him to take a knee. Saul Alvarez looked impressive and unbeatable in yesterday’s match.

After it was all said and done, the question is who will be Saul “El Canelo” Alvarez’s next opponent. He has stated that he would like to go against Floyd “Money” Mayweather in order to get his rematch from the previous and only loss he has suffered in his professional boxing matches career. Will Mayweather be up for the match or will Saul “El Canelo” Alvarez need to find another opponent? Either way, Canelo is cementing himself to be a future legend if the streak continues.
